The social responsibility project titled “A Friend on the Street”, carried out by Ayşe Ecem Yavuz, one of our students from the Program of Medical Documentation and Secretariat, under the supervision of the Head of the Program Lecturer Emin Aksan, aims to increase sensitivity towards stray animals and raise social awareness. As part of the project, regular food support was provided to street animals living in the Bakırköy area over the course of two months. Going beyond the temporary solutions, the project also created a lasting impact by designing sustainable food containers and placing them in areas of need. With the support of volunteer participants, food distribution activities were carried out, encouraging community engagement. Awareness brochures and pet food packages were distributed to help raise public consciousness, making the project especially valuable in promoting compassion for animals and raising awareness among young individuals. This initiative not only helped improve the living conditions of stray animals but also contributed to fostering a sense of social responsibility among individuals, demonstrating that even a small act can make a big difference. |
