“TÜRKİYE OF LIBERATION: ANKARA SUMMER 1922” EXHIBITION THROUGH THE EYES OF YEVGENİ LANSERE OPENED AT IKUSAG

Istanbul Kültür University Art Gallery (IKUSAG) opened its 2024-2025 season with Yevgeni Lansere's exhibition “Türkiye of Liberation: Ankara Summer 1922.” The opening of the exhibition, organized in collaboration with Cumhuriyet Newspaper, was held on Wednesday, October 16 at 15:00 in the IKUSAG Exhibition Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

“INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY OF HUMAN RIGHTS 23RD SUMMER WORKSHOP”

Istanbul Kültür University Penal Law Application and Research Center (CEHAMER) organised the ‘International Academy of Human Rights 23rd Summer Workshop’ between October 7-12, 2024, at Kuşadası Richmond Ephesus Hotel.

The event was chaired by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Bahri Öztürk, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Director of CEHAMER, and Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Helmut Goerlich, and honoured with the attendance of Mr. Ralf Schröer, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Izmir, and Mr. Niyazi Acar, Deputy Minister of Justice.

PROF. DR. DR. H.C. ÇAĞLA GÜL YESEVİ COMMENTED ON THE EVENTS IN THE MIDDLE EAST

Our Head of the Department of International Relations, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Çağla Gül Yesevi, commented on the balances in the Middle East and Türkiye's position in the process to Demirören News Agency (DHA). Prof. Dr. Yesevi said, “The cyberattacks of September 18 were taken seriously by Hezbollah, but it should be noted that many of its members have been wounded and killed since then. The destruction of older technology devices used by Hezbollah to protect its members was interpreted as a cyberattack or an act of terrorism.

WOMEN AFFECTED BY THE EARTHQUAKE ARE EMPOWERED WITH VOCATIONAL TRAINING

The countdown has begun for the “Iron Women: The Power of Women in Welding Art” project, which was developed to socially and economically empower women who settled in Istanbul after the Kahramanmaraş earthquake.

The academic and vocational training process of the project, which was designed by the Women’s Association in Business World with the support of the General Directorate of Relations with Civil Society of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Türkiye, will be carried out by Istanbul Kültür University and Istanbul Gedik University.

Honorary Doctorate for Prof. Dr. Çağla Gül Yesevi

Prof. Dr. Çağla Gül Yesevi, Head of the International Relations Department at Istanbul Kültür University (I), has been honored with an honorary doctorate by the Journalism and Mass Communications University of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The title was presented by the Deputy Secretary-General, Mr. Mirvohid Azimov, at the General Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States.

IKU OTONOM TEAM SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE TECHNICAL TEST PHASE

IKU OTONOM Team, which participated in the Robotaxi Full-Scale Autonomous Vehicle Competition held at the Bilişim Vadisi Campus in Gebze district of Kocaeli within the scope of TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, successfully completed the technical test phase. We wish success to the IKU OTONOM Team, which continues its activities within the Asimov Technology Club in the final stage.

A COOPERATION PROTOCOL WAS SIGNED BETWEEN ISTANBUL KÜLTÜR UNIVERSITY AND BAKIRKÖY SOCIAL SECURITY PROVINCIAL DIRECTORATE

A cooperation protocol was signed between Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) and Bakırköy Social Security Provincial Directorate regarding the activities to be carried out within the scope of the Year of Retirees. The protocol was signed by our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, Bakırköy Social Security Provincial Director Harun Sertbaş, Deputy Provincial Director Sinan Akpınar and Center Manager Hatice Çolak.

APPLICATIONS FOR ISTANBUL KÜLTÜR UNIVERSITY DESIGN FACTORY HAVE STARTED!

Applications for the new term have started for the Design Factory, which Istanbul Kültür University launched three years ago. In this period, all second year and above students enrolled in the departments of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Programming, Cartoon and Animation, Communication Design, Radio Television and Cinema, Communication Arts and Digital Game Design can apply to the Design Factory's apprentice program.
